About Patrick

Arthur Steel (my father) is a renowned Fleet Street Photographer, now retired and because of his career I grew up surrounded by photographic equipment and cameras. From the age of seven I would help dad print black and white images in the darkroom. Later on in life I studied Photography for a year at College and became a window cleaner throughout this period to help finance myself. After a fortnight of unpaid work experience I was offered a full time position at London’s largest photographic studio, Holborn Studios. I worked there for a couple of years as a studio assistant and then went on to assist as a freelancer for a further eight years travelling extensively around the globe on assignments working with some of the world’s leading Photographers. During this time, I assisted Portrait Photographers such as Terry O’Neill, David Steen and Brian Aris and was lucky enough to have personally met Her Majesty The Queen, Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Elizabeth Taylor, to name a few. It was thanks to this experience I also witnessed some wonderful interiors and this is where my interest for interiors stemmed from.

I’ve worked as a Freelance Professional Photographer for many years, working closely with advertising agencies, design companies and interior designers. My Professional background spans from conventional film to today’s digital capture age. As such, I have a broad experience of the different processes involved in the creation of an image, which, combined with my vision at the post-production stage ensures that every job that I undertake will be finished to the highest of standards, both technically and aesthetically.

I love my work, and I hope that you will love working with me too.
